Hey there! I’m Ashley Weaver.

I believe that Social Studies classes can be the most engaging classes in the school if teachers are able to make the content come alive through relevant and varied lesson plans as well as show their passion for the subject matter.

I spent 10 years in the classroom at Eagle Valley High School in Gypsum, Colorado (Eagle County School District). I began teaching World and United States History. I then spent 9 years teaching Government and Economics. I created original curriculum for a Current Issues class. For 4 of those years, I took on teaching American Government in a lecture hall setting to give students at our relatively small school exposure to the college lecture experience. In my last 2 years I took over the Advanced Placement Government class as well where my students test scores proved to be very successful, with over 85% of my students scoring 3's, 4’s and 5’s. Additionally, I coordinated and guided 5 trips to Washington DC with students, including 3 Presidential Inaugurations. I attended an AP Summer Institute in Bend, Oregon in August 2018 to effectively implement the changes made by the College Board to the AP U.S. Government & Politics curriculum.
